The White House issued the first invitations to the Summit of the Americas, for the moment Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua are not on the list of deliveries.
A An official source from the White House confirmed to Caracol Radio that the Biden administration sent the first invitations this Wednesday to the Summit of the Americas to be held June 6-10 in Los Angeles, California.
Although Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua are not included, the official source stated that “We are still evaluating options on how to incorporate the voices of the Cuban, Venezuelan and Nicaraguan peoples into the Summit process.”

After the sRepublican enator Marco Rubio affirmed that President Biden “is going to invite the Cuban regime to the Summit”the AP agency stated that the White House would be considering inviting an official of the Díaz-Canel government“as his administration tries to salvage an event that is at risk of collapsing over guest list disagreements.”
Until now the presidents of Mexico, Bolivia and Guatemala issued a statement declining the invitation unless all the countries of the hemisphere are considered at the meeting.
