The Minister of Labor and Employment Promotion, Betssy Chavezdenounced that he has been suffering from an alleged political harassment by Willax TV journalists. Also a congresswoman from Democratic Peru considered that said initiative transgresses his safety, integrity and tranquility of his family, for which he requested the intervention of the Peruvian Press Council.
Chavez Chinese He substantiated his complaint by reporting that the journalists of the aforementioned media outlet stationed themselves, this Saturday, May 28, outside his home in the afternoon, which hindered the entry to his home.
“I want to make known the harassment that I have been suffering from journalists from the Willax channel (…). They come filming the interior of the house, asking my neighbors who I live with, how long have I been here, and other domestic chores typical of the intimacy of my home. Really, these acts are execrable because they violate the security, integrity and tranquility of my family, ”said Chávez through his social networks.
The congresswoman requested the intervention of Maria Eugenia Mohme Seminary as president of the Peruvian Press Council for the alleged abuse of a sector of the press.
“I have always been respectful of the press, not only as a congressman, but as minister of the Labor and Employment Promotion portfolio; however, it is because of this position of the press that it motivates me to present my complaint for the monitoring and harassment that they do against me and neighbors”, reads the first paragraph of the statement.
Further down the line, the still minister points out that “this attack on the integrity that all Peruvians should enjoy is violated by the actions of some who profess journalistic work”. In this scenario, he pointed out that his complaint must adhere to the legal framework and ethical principles of journalism.
