Bento Albuquerque is no longer the Minister of Mines and Energy. The decree with the dismissal of the position, at the request, signed by President Jair Bolsonaro, is published in Official Diary of the Union of this fourththursday (11).
In place of Bento Albuquerque, the President of the Republic appointed Adolfo Sachsida, a career servant at the Institute of Applied Economic Research (IPEA). He was the head of the Special Advisory for Strategic Affairs at the Ministry of Economy.
Sachsida holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Brasília (UnB) with a postdoctoral degree from the University of Alabama, in the United States. He is also a lawyer, specializing in tax law.
On his Twitter profile, Sachsida thanked the president for his “trust” and the Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes. And she also mentioned former minister Bento Albuquerque “for his work on behalf of the country.” “With a lot of work and dedication, I hope to be up to this, which is the biggest professional challenge of my career. With the grace of God, we will help Brazil”, she wrote on the social network.
