More than 25 kilometers are delivered this Wednesday to connect to Barranquilla and Barrancabermeja in the department of Santander.
This is the single bidirectional road that includes the La Sorda Tunnel, the La Paz Tunnel and the Río Sucio viaduct as part of the Bucaramanga-Barrancabermeja-Yondó project.
With this delivery, the Ministry of Transport and the National Government expect to benefit nearly 500,000 people in the municipalities of Girón, Betulia, San Vicente de Chucurí, Lebrija and Barrancabermeja in the department of Santander.
Functional units 5, 6 and 7 will be delivered along the stretch, that is, in the areas of the La Paz – Santa Rosa bridge, La Paz Tunnel and Río Sucio-Lisboa.
The construction of the La Sorda tunnels, which are 2.2 km long, and La Paz, 3.2 km long, will optimize the mobility and connectivity of the department of Santander with the middle Magdalena.
On the other hand, the Rio Sucio viaduct is 660 meters long and is the longest in the region. Its function will be to connect the two tunnels (La Sorda and La Paz).
According to the Ministry of Transport, This work that will unite the department will even reduce the travel time from Barrancabermeja to Bucaramanga by approximately 30 minutes.
These works generated 3,700 jobs.
