The two new increases will be due to the fact that inflation will continue at high levels at least in the first quarter of the year, especially core inflation.
While the Federal Reserve in the United States will continue raising the rate in May, Banxico will pause the movements and it will be until the end of the year when Banorte estimates that two new rate cuts will be made and thus close the year at 10.5%.
Analysts see a better behavior of inflation at the end of the year, at levels of 4.8%, which will allow the rate to be reduced.
For the Mexican economy, growth of 1.5% is expected because the US economy will slow down and will only grow 0.8%.
