Banco Agrícola financia más de RD$23MM a compra de ganado

He Agricultural bank financed with more than RD$23 million at a zero rate the purchase of cattle of high genetic value, of the Girolando breed, from small and medium-sized producers in the country, during the cattle auction held yesterday at the Batero ranch, in the El Cabrero community, in the municipality of War, in the province Santo Domingo.

The administrator of the Bagrícola Fernando Durán expressed that these loans are intended to expand the breeds of cattle with high milk productivity in the national territory, in an effort by the Government to continue guaranteeing food security.

Durán, who was accompanied by the Minister of Agriculture, Limber Cruzassured that these loans benefited farmers from Puerto Plata, Monte Plata, San Juan, Higuey, San Francisco de Macorís, El Seibo, Baní, Monte Cristi, María Trinidad Sánchez, Sánchez Ramírez and other provinces of the country that acquired specimens of this breed which produces between 25 and 35 liters of milk per day.

The benefited farmers have up to 7 years to pay and the applications were received at the Bagrícola stand located at the auction site.

“We are creating the conditions for agriculture to continue advancing, with investments in high technology, the incorporation of solar energy on farms to lower production costs and to improve milk and meat management,” said the administrator. of the Bagrícola

“The future of livestock in the Dominican Republic is promising,” he said, during the activity, organized by the National Livestock Board and the owner of the Batero ranch, Juan Alexis Alonso Balbuena.

In attendance were the director of the Price Stabilization Institute (INESPRE), Iván Hernández; Arismendy Almonte, member of the Bagrícola Board of Directors; Salomón Rodríguez, director of Risk; Eduardo Báez, Director of Credits and Juan Almánzar, Regional Director.

Also, other agricultural items were financed at a preferential rate of 6% per year.
