Balance Covid-19: Minsal reports 23,395 new cases and deaths reach 272 in the last 24 hours

The Ministry of Health made a new balance on the situation of Covid-19 in the country, where 23,395 new cases were reported, of which 13,531 correspond to symptomatic people and 3,606 did not present symptoms. In addition, 6,258 positive PCR tests were recorded that were not reported.

In this way, the total number of people diagnosed with Covid-19 reached 3,122,802 and recovered patients reached 2,981,315 since the arrival of the coronavirus in Chile.

On the other hand, the death of 272 people in the last 24 hours was detailed, thus reaching 42,683 since the start of the pandemic, while positivity reached 21.80% nationwide.

As for active cases, these reached 91,035 people and PCR tests amounted to 96,681 in the last 24 hours, thus reaching the total amount of 33,241,006.

Meanwhile, there are 1,105 people hospitalized for Covid-19 in Intensive Care Units. Of these, 912 are supported by mechanical ventilation. Along the same lines, the hospital capacity has 2,533 critical beds enabled and 177 critical beds available.

Positivity in the Metropolitan Region reached 16%, while the regions with the highest increase in new confirmed cases in the last seven days are Ñuble, Los Ríos, Biobío and Maule.
