Balance Covid-19: Minsal reports 2,225 new cases and 16 deaths in the last 24 hours

The Ministry of Health detailed 2,225 new cases, of which 1,297 correspond to symptomatic people and 179 did not present symptoms. In addition, 749 positive PCR tests were registered that were not notified.

In this way, the total number of people diagnosed with Covid-19 reached 4,939,304. and recovered patients reached 4,852,871. since the arrival of the coronavirus in Chile.

The death of 16 people in the last 24 hours was detailed, thus reaching 62,587 since the start of the pandemic. On the other hand, positivity reached 10.49% nationwide.

As for the active cases, these reached 9,163 people and the PCR tests amounted to 15,978 in the last 24 hours, thus reaching a total amount of 47,182,970.

Meanwhile, there are 138 people hospitalized for Covid-19 in Intensive Care Units. Of these, 89 are supported by mechanical ventilation. Along the same lines, the hospital capacity has 1,923 critical beds enabled and 260 critical beds available.

Positivity in the Metropolitan Region reached 10.7%, while the regions with the highest increase in new confirmed cases in the last seven days are O’Higgins, Los Lagos, Arica and Parinacota, and Antofagasta.
