The Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, John Joseph Bahillohighlighted this Sunday that the Export Increase Program that establishes a differential exchange of $200 per dollar for the soybean complex during September was “a success”, that “in just one week” It allowed the commercialization of 4.6 million tons of soybeans and a foreign exchange income to the country of more than 2,000 million dollars.
The application of the measure, assured the secretary, allowed “producers to receive an average price almost 40% higher than the one they received on August 31, which is practically equivalent to a reduction to zero of the rights of exports” which “motivated sales to speed up”.
“In just one week since the Minister (of Economy) Sergio Massa announced the export increase program, the data convincingly show the success of the measures, which achieved a historic soybean sales record“, assured Bahillo today in a message on his Twitter account.
In addition, he said that “the measures provided a framework of predictability that allowed producers to agree on their sales by setting values under the made price modality.”
And he added: “(The measures) allowed 4.6 million tons of soybeans to be marketed in one week, which translates into a foreign exchange income for the country of more than 2,000 million dollars.”
The program announced by the Minister of Economy also establishes that a proportion of the proceeds obtained from export duties on liquidated soybeans will be allocated to an Agricultural Export Increase Fund, that will contribute to Anses to serve vulnerable sectors with food and social programs, and another part to improve the competitiveness of small and medium producers and regional economies.
