After spending two days on Honduran soil, the Vice President of the Republic, Cristina Fernandezhas embarked on his journey back to the nation after having completed his participation in the special investiture ceremony of the current president of Honduras, Xiomara Castro.
Last Tuesday, January 25, the former president Cristina Fernandez traveled to the Central American nation to accompany the newly elected president in her inauguration and to participate, on behalf of Argentina, in a series of events and activities scheduled in the city of Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
Beside Cristina Fernandez A special delegation from his closest collaborators traveled: Senators Oscar Parrilli and Adolfo Rodríguez Saá, Deputy Eduardo Valdés and the head of the Women’s Ministry, Elizabeth Gómez Alcorta.
During his stay in Honduras, the leader of the Front of All party too led a discussion at the National Autonomous University of Tegucigalpa, entitled “peoples always come back”in clear reference to the historic return of the Honduran left to the Executive Branch.
Let us remember that in 2009, the then president of Honduras, Manuel Zelaya, was overthrown in a military coup orchestrated by the opposition of this country. At that time, Xiomara Castro, today the first female president of the Central American nation, held the position of first lady.

As revealed by the Télam news agency, which cites sources close to the vice president, the investiture ceremony of Xiomara Castro ended this afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in Honduras (4:30 p.m. in Argentina) and immediately the special Argentine delegation began its trip back to the country.
The unofficial data handled so far is that “At 9:00 p.m. tonight, the vice president and her team of parliamentarians were already at the Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima, Peru, where they would make a single stop to return to the country”.
