The second phase of the Operation “Awareness for Life, Christmas and New Year 2022-2023”, will start from 2:00 p.m. today until January 1 at 6:00 p.m., reported the Emergency Operations Center (COE), this Friday.
The body, together with the institutions that make it up, will establish a prevention and road safety device in sections of the main roads and highways of the national territory to prevent traffic accidents, alcohol poisoning and food poisoning.
For it, the EOC is deploying 44,321 peoplewho represent the institutions that are part of the entity.
Likewise, the reinforcement of the assistance posts located in points where there have been detected more incidents during the development of the first phase.
Similarly, 197 ambulances will be distributed, located at strategic points, 5 vehicular extraction trucks, 71 vehicular rescue units, 19 mobile workshops and 3 helicopters that were ordered by the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Carlos Luciano Díaz Morfa, ERD
The director of the COE, Juan Manuel Méndez García, called on the citizens to assume the security measures that from the Central Government have been arranged to prevent incidents during the festivities.
“It is time for family union, to thank the Almighty for all the blessings received throughout this year that will end in a few hours. Be prudent and respect the provisions establisheds by civil protection agencies”, he recommended.

It is recalled that for the Christmas Eve and Christmas festivities, the COE reported 18 fatalities in traffic accidents and 226 people were intoxicated by alcohol; including 11 minors.
