Two Dominicans are arrested.
The authorities occupied this Saturday 700 packages of what I know presumably it’s cocainein the midst of an air, sea and land interdiction operation carried out in the San Pedro de Macoris province and in which the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD)the Dominican Republic Navythe Air Forcewith the support of State intelligence agencies and under the coordination of the Public ministry.
DNCD agents and military personnel, as part of the national and international cooperation process, received reports that the occupants of a speedboat (Eduardoño type) that were sighted south of the coast of the aforementioned province, intended to introduce an undetermined amount of drugs to Dominican territory.
Immediately, the naval and air units were activated, which began a broad pursuit operation by air, sea and land, which lasted several hours, managing to intercept a boat of about 27 feet in length, where they arrested two men and seized 24 sacks. containing the amount of 700 blocks.

In the joint operation, two outboard motors of 75 horsepower each, 14 jugs of fuel, radio navigation equipment and other evidence were seized.
The detainees, who will be identified in a timely manner, are in the custody of the Public Ministry of San Pedro de Macorís to learn about coercive measures in the next few hours, while the investigation is deepened to determine if there are others involved in the present case.
“The occupants of the boat (two Dominicans) arrived at the Dominican coast from South America, as established in the first reports of the investigation,” the note states.
The Dominican authorities have confiscated 7,167 kilograms of cocaine (7.1 tons) in the month of April alone, which translates into the firm support of the higher government, new strategies, international cooperation, as well as the strength and collaboration inter-institutional
The 700 packages used in this new operation are being sent under chain of custody to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) for analysis to determine the exact type and weight of the substance.
