Opposition organizations denounce the arrest carried out this Tuesday, April 12, against four musicians critical of the regime of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo. “Music is resistance and the dictatorship wants to silence it,” say the political groups that demand the freedom of imprisoned artists.
The Nicaraguan University Alliance (YET) dedicated a tweet to denounce the imprisonments and send a message to one of the sons of the presidential couple Juan Carlos Ortega Murillo, who has ventured into music. “Although you imprison all the musicians of Nicaragua and only you and your musical projects remain, the people of Nicaragua will not listen to you. You’re not going to be successful like that,” the organization reminded him.
