With the purpose of showing the European influence in the history of Havana, today Thursday begins an audiovisual cycle in the Center for the interpretation of Cuba-Europe cultural relations.
The event, which is included in the program of the Month of Europe in Cuba (from April 9 to May 9, will take place over three days (April 13, 20 and 27) in that institution, located in the Palacio del Segundo Cabo , Old Havana.
Today Thursday will be screened From Poland to Havana. New roots under the skin, material on the ties between the two nations, dating back to the World Wars and the entry of Polish migrants to the island.
The documentary illustrates the settlement of Poles and Jews in different Havana towns, where they arrived as artisans, workers, street vendors of ties, buttons and fabrics, among other products.
