Attorney General announces that those arrested for corruption plots will be charged

The Attorney General of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Tarek William Saab, announced that in the next few hours all those arrested for the corruption plot will be charged before the competent court.

It is important to remember that last Saturday the Attorney General announced the detainees who will be charged, including former AN deputy Hugbel Roa and other former officials linked to the corruption scheme at Petróleos de Venezuela SA (pdvsa).

Likewise, the mayor of Las Tejerías, Santos Michelena municipality, Aragua state, Pedro José Hernández Inojosa, who was linked to Carlos Enrique Gómez Rodríguez, alias “El Conejo”, who will be charged with the crimes of aggravated extortion, terrorism, obstruction of freedom of trade, aggravated criminal association, money laundering and treason.

In addition, three members of the Judiciary will be charged: the president of the Criminal Judicial Circuit, Cristóbal Cornieles Perret; the Control Room Judge, José Mascimino Márquez García and the lawyer, Yorwis Bracho Gómez.

The three aforementioned former officials will be charged with the crimes of delay or intentional omission of functions and association to commit a crime; These investigations are carried out by the 50th, 67th and 73rd National Prosecutors, attached to the Public Ministry.
