The Prosecutor’s Office against Organized Crime together with the National Police (DIJ-DNIP) preliminarily arrested 37 people for crimes against public faith, against public administration and illicit association, in the provinces of Colón, Panama, Panamá Oeste, Veraguas and Darien.
The “Operation on the Wheel” took place this Wednesday with the execution of 80 simultaneous search proceedings, which is aimed at dismantling an organized criminal group linked to crimes of illicit association, document falsification and corruption of public officials.
This criminal group was dedicated to car theft, double identity and sale. Different documents and technological items used by these people to commit the crime have been confiscated.
Final details of said operation are expected to be offered in the next few hours.
