The Association of Ecological Hotels and Operators in the Dominican Republic (ASOHOECORD), will participate for the first time in the largest international tourism fair FITUR, which will take place from January 18 to 23, 2023, in the city of Madrid, as reported by the Guild director engineer Marc Bautil.
The main objective of ASOHOECORD is to strengthen the development and positioning of the members at a national and international level, betting on revitalizing the offer of green tourism in the DR, nature tourism or ecotourism in the DR, for which its director and also owner of the Cabarete Eco hotels Lodge, Hotel Mansión Colonial (former Doña Elvira), Punta Cana Ecolodge, invites all its members to participate in the fair.
The association launched at the end of 2022 has 65 members, from the main ecological hotels and operators such as Paraíso Cano Hondo, Hacienda Cocuyo, Mosquito Boutique Hotel, El Gallo EcoLodge, Perla Negra Ecolodge Bonao, Casa del Mar Barahona and various operators, schools surfing at Playa Encuentro/ Macao, Kite Beach Cabarete, excursions to Pico Duarte, Montana Redonda, Los Haitises, El Limón, Bahía Las Águilas, Gran Jimenoa.

During the exhibition, which will take place for five days in Madrid, ASOHOECORD members will be able to promote their ecological hotels, present their offers and the exotic ones, attractions that they have at the level of stay in their facilities and non-polluting activities in their surroundings, such as It is surfing, kitesurfing, paddle, diving, walking, bathing in the sea, rivers, lakes, riding bicycles and horses and excursions respecting and valuing nature.
Solenni Chanel Vázquez and Willy González, who are also part of the ASOHOECORD board of directors, stated that “the objective is to place the country at the same level as Costa Rica as a tourism destination with splendid nature, extravagant biodiversity, 1,500 km of coastline, the highest mountains in the entire eastern part of the American continent and increase the business of its members through marketing programs, information, communications aimed at the main markets, social networks, influencers and the press, in addition to attracting tourists with a focus on ecological activities, sustainability and valuation of natural sites and national parks ”, are among the main objectives of the union.
The FITUR conferences will welcome in the same space both professionals related to the tourism sector, as well as those interested in the latest trends in the sector, as well as the general public interested in finding out about the destinations offered by the different operators.
