The current president of the country, Dina Boluarte, attended the meeting of the World Economic Forum last year.

On that occasion, Boluarte attended as vice president of the Government of Pedro Castillo, who decided not to travel to Switzerland to address “internal agenda issues” due to the worsening of the political confrontation in the country.

This time, the chancellor will attend this global meeting while Peru is going through an escalation of violence in the protests that have totaled 49 people who have died since December.
