The reasons for the increase
The SBASE recalled: “The modification of the tariff schedule was discussed and approved at the public hearing held on February 3 (last), with the aim of continuing to guarantee the maintenance and proper functioning of the service and in line with the tariff update implemented by the national government for the rest of the public transport in the AMBA”.
And he added: “In addition to seeking a balance between the ticket of the different means of transport, the update responds to the variation of the technical rate – which reflects the cost of operating the service and consists of the ratio between said costs and the number of paid passengers— and is necessary to guarantee the proper functioning of the subwaykeeping the public transport system sustainable”.
