Art and music to express how we want to live: without violence

Next Wednesday, November 30, at 6:30 p.m., the public will be able to enjoy the songs of Purahéi Soul and Bianca Orqueda in the Plaza Mariscal del Shopping Mariscal (Dr. Juan Eulogio Estigarribia corner San Roque González de Santuacruz). The recital, with free and open access, will take place as a closure of the #IWantToVivirAsí #SinViolencia campaign and within the framework of #25N.

Music, by the duo Purahéi Soul and the singer Bianca Orqueda, will be the protagonist of the closing of the #QuieroVivirAsí campaign led by the United Nations Population Fund, UNFPA, with the support of Shopping Mariscal. The activity is carried out within the framework of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which is commemorated every November 25 (#25N), and the 16 days of activism against violence against women.

“We are waiting for you with all the hearts of the world, we are going to hug each other, we are going to laugh…”, announced the singer nivacchê Bianca Orqueda.

#QuieroVivirAsí is a campaign that unites art with messages for a world without violence. Throughout this year, more than 60 illustrations representing how we want to live were disseminated on social networks. The objective of this initiative is to promote the rights of women, youth, adolescents, girls and boys to continue building a world free of violence: change the perspective of victims to people who know, protect, watch over and exercise their rights. It had the alliance of 13 State institutions and civil society organizations.

Bianca Orqueda and Purahéi Soul
Nairo, Mujer virtuous and Isesh’in will be some of the songs that Bianca Orqueda, an indigenous singer-songwriter from the Uj’e Lhavos community of Filadelfia, Chaco, will perform. At just 23 years old, the young woman has already represented Paraguay at a musical event in Dubai and is currently working on her first recording material, as well as developing a cultural center in her community for free music education for Nivaclé boys and girls.

Purahéi Soul, for its part, will offer part of its rich repertoire in which songs such as Luna, Aire de campo and Swing stand out. Composed by Jennifer Hicks and Miguel Narváez, this duet was born in 2013 to revalue our music and art by working together with design, dance and photography artists. One of their latest productions, Bloque Guaraní, dates from 2021 and has 12 songs, including the hit Desapego, which the duo will perform on stage with Bianca Orqueda to close the show.

In addition to the show, an artist will illustrate the attendees live and a video station will be available on a 360° platform. Access is free and free.

#QuieroVivirAsí is an awareness campaign, which started in April and ends this November, to promote freedom, rights and a world without violence in accordance with the fifth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG).

In addition to the concert on November 30 and the dissemination of illustrations on social networks, the campaign promoted other activities where art was always the protagonist, such as the collective creation of a mural on Boggiani Avenue almost Mayor José Aranda, in Asunción. Shopping Mariscal, for its part, exhibits four LED totems with messages and illustrations of #QuieroVivirAsí. Today, November 25, eleven gastronomic venues also join this cause by including awareness messages on their placemats and napkins.

The institutions allied to the UNFPA campaign are the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare (MSPBS), the Ministry of Women, the Ministry of Children and Adolescents (MINNA), the Ministry of Justice and Labor, the National Emergency Secretariat (SEN) , Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (MITIC), Ministry of Public Defense, Paraguayan Network of Afro-descendants (RPA), Youth Presence, We are Pytyvõhára, Network Against All Forms of Discrimination and Kuña Guaraní Aty.
