Police officers arrested a man at the Carrasco International Airport who intended to travel to Europe with cocaine and LSD.
The authorities arrested the subject, who was carrying the drug on his legs, fastened with packing tape. In total, the man was carrying two kilograms of cocaine and was discovered at the time he was going through the controls carried out at the airport.
The subject, 40 years old, intended to travel to Barcelona, Spain. The authorities of the General Directorate for the Repression of Illicit Drug Traffic arrested him when they detected the drug in the area of his calves.
In addition to the two kilograms of suspected white substance cocaine, the man was carrying a total of 135 doses of LSD.
The authorities brought the man to justice. After completing the judicial instance, the national courts sentenced the subject to four years and six months in prison for a crime of exporting narcotics.
Although a sentence has already been passed, the investigations continue by the 3rd Shift Prosecutor’s Office of Ciudad de la Costa, Canelones.
