Argentine companies will participate in the most important biotechnology fair in California

Representatives of more than 20 biotechnology companies that will participate in the most important sector fair at a global level called Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO 2022), in the city of San Diego, United States, They were received by Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero together with the Secretary of International Economic Relations, Cecilia Todesca Bocco.

Argentina will participate from June 13 to 16 in the Fair -one of the most important global meetings for the sector- with its own pavilion organized by the Argentine Investment and International Trade Agency (Aaici),

The exhibition takes place every year in different cities of the United States and It brings together the main international companies in the sector, as well as SMEs, Start Up projects and university institutions.

This year will focus on the pharmaceutical industry and during the eventDifferent promotion and training sessions related to various areas within biotechnology and nanotechnology will be held.

Cafiero stressed the importance of the Argentine presence at the fair and stressed that “the best way to represent the country is through companies and entrepreneurs that show the work and talent that they incorporate into national production.”

The foreign minister stressed thatThe diplomatic corps of the Argentine embassiess is trained to position Argentina as a provider of goods and services based on knowledge, science and technology.

The meeting was attended by the president of the Aaici, Juan Usandivaras, and representatives of the companies grouped in the Argentine Chamber of Biotechnology Gador, Bago Biprofarma, Argenomix, Romikin, Elea Phoenix Laboratory, Insud, Bioceres, Biogenesis Bago, Mabxience, Untech and Amega Biotech.

At the meeting, the representatives of the biotech companies pointed out that the presence of Argentine companies in this edition is record and highlighted the leadership role of Argentina as a representative of Latin America.

Graciela Ciccia, Director of Innovation and Technological Development at Insud, stated: “After two years we are going in person to the most important biotechnology fair in the world”.

Ciccia stressed that they hope “to do a very good job representing Argentina and this knowledge-based economy, where we are leaders in the region in biotechnology.”

Gabriela Gutiérrez, founder of Microgenesis, She stated that it is very important to “inspire other companies, other women scientists and entrepreneurs to join and internationalize their products.”

BIO has been developed since 1993 and Argentina participates since 2006 (on this occasion, with the presence of 21 companies and institutions).

The companies Gemabiotech, Sinergium Biotech, Microgenesis, Richmond Laboratories, Stamm Vegh, Latinaba, Bioeutectics, Kheiron, Wiener Laboratories and Carpe Scheider will accompany the official delegation.
