The Archbishop of La Paz, Monsignor Percy Galván, referred to the situation in Santa Cruz that goes through scenarios of police repression and confrontations after the apprehension and imprisonment of Governor Luis Fernando Camacho.

He agreed on the rejection of the way in which how the apprehension of the first departmental authority was proceededwhere at noon on Wednesday police officers in civilian clothes intercepted him near his home, reduced and beat his security team, and then transferred him to the Viru Viru airport where a Red Devils super puma that was bound for La Paz was waiting.

“There the mistake was made, there are procedures, steps that have to be taken and respected, but unfortunately due to the politicization and judicialization of politics, wow, due forms are not respected. We are all subjected to justice, but it must be objective.” affirmed this Sunday (January 1) the ecclesiastical authority.

Galván maintained that while there will be no true justice nor will there be a reunion of citizens with freedom and peace. He said that nothing justifies violence, because it produces more violence.

“We know the unfortunate situation of Bolivian justice, hopefully it will be a year of reform and improvements,” he said.
