President Luis Arce announced on Wednesday night that the anticovid vaccination is extended for children from 5 to 11 years old from this Thursday, December 9.

“In the logic that children are above all, because their safety and well-being are the safety and well-being of the Bolivia of the future, we have made the decision so that starting tomorrow, Thursday, December 9, vaccination will be extended to children between five and 11 years, “said the Bolivian president in a message broadcast by state media.

In this context, he announced that the vaccine that will be used to immunize this group of the population is Sinopharm, which already has scientific studies on its efficacy.

“The immunization schedule will be the same as for other age groups, two doses 21 days apart,” said Arce.

In this context, he reported that his government negotiated with China the donation of 3 million doses of this vaccine, which “will arrive in the country before the end of the year and will be used exclusively for children between 5 and 11 years old” since the total It is made up of 1,646,498 infants.

Arce thanked the Asian country for delivering the batch that, according to Arce, will be enough to vaccinate 100% of this group of children.

In this context, logistics are already being prepared for Boliviana de Aviación (BoA) to transport the vaccines.
