The presidents of Bolivia, Luis Arce, and Argentina, Alberto Fernández, are meeting today in Buenos Aires, where they are expected to sign an agreement to put into effect the sixth addendum to the contract for the sale of gas to that market.
“Tomorrow the presidents will meet and agree on some aspects related to the supply of gas (to that market)”, informed the Minister of Hydrocarbons, Franklin Molina. The authority said it cannot anticipate the volumes of gas that will be shipped.
The Argentine Economy Minister, Martín Guzmán, met yesterday with the Argentine ambassador to Bolivia, Ariel Basteiro, with whom they discussed pending issues to advance the bilateral agenda with a focus on energy issues, reported the newspaper La Nación.
Guzmán’s goal is to reach a tripartite agreement with Brazil and Bolivia to ensure gas supply in winter.
In the midst of these conversations, President Alberto Fernández will receive Luis Arce Catacora, in what is expected to end with an important announcement in this regard. On his Twitter account, the Minister of Economy wrote: “Together with President @alferdez, we are waiting for you President @LuchoXBolivia and Minister Franklin Molina Ortiz.”
“We came with a supply of 7.5 MMmcd from Bolivia and this week between 10 and 11 million will arrive. By the middle of the year it will be around 16 million meters,” Agustín Gerez, head of Argentine Energy Integration (IEASA), who participated in the meetings with YPFB, said on Monday. The new addendum is also expected to improve the price of gas in winter.
