The Minister of Economy and Finance, lily arbelechereferred this Wednesday to different aspects of the economic situation, the fiscal situation, and the main guidelines that guide the project of Accountability which was presented to Parliament a few days ago.

During an interview carried out on Carve radio, the head of the MEF was also consulted regarding the water crisis that affects Montevideo and the metropolitan area today.

Arbeleche said that the resources to face this crisis are available, just as they were to face the crisis of the health emergency caused by the pandemic.

The minister recalled that the creation of a specific fund was proposed to attend to problems related to equality and thus “encapsulate all the expenses that are necessary to support”.

In another part of the interview, the minister was asked whether she continues to drink water from the tap. “Yes,” replied the head of Economy.

“I can say that when I arrived (on the radio) and asked for coffee, they told me that they had to go get (water). I said no, no, I just drink with tap water. (…) Do not get complicated because I continue to drink water from the faucet,” said Arbeleche.
