More than $135 million dollars in claims have been filed with the Panamanian Association of Insurance Companies (APADEA), as a result of the COVID-19 crisis.
This was reported by the APADEA when highlighting that $88.3 million correspond to compensation as a result of death by Covid-19, $46.3 million in hospitalization costs where the cost of Intensive Care and Hospitalization in Wards adds up to more than $41 million while Unemployment policies and miscellaneous coverage reaches nearly $600 thousand dollars.
“Even though the cases of death and hospitalizations as a result of the virus have decreased, thanks to the vaccination days, we urge the population to follow all biosecurity measures and continue to protect themselves through timely vaccination,” said the APADEA through a release.
