The National Police against Corruption detained Colonel (Army) Oscar Albis Dávila Rondón, who served as president of Bariven and PDVSA Industrial, according to judicial sources.
Both are affiliated companies of PDVSA that procure the goods (Bariven) for the development of the state’s own activities and direct the productive apparatus of the industries that process crude oil (PDVSA Industrial), according to official gazettes.
Dávila Rondón is a classmate of Colonel Antonio Pérez Suárez, also detained and who is considered by the Public Ministry as the head of a mafia that operated from PDVSA which embezzled the State with the sale of crude whose dollars did not enter the national treasure, according to research.
Apparently, Dávila Rondón was part of that framework unveiled on March 17the day the National Police against Corruption began an operation to locate and capture those responsible for the embezzlement, which to date number 63 deprived of liberty.
Dávila Rondón will be charged for the alleged commission of the crimes of treason, evasion of procedures, controls or restrictions on tenders, concert for the execution of a contract, money laundering and association.
This catalog of crimes is specified in the arrest warrant No. 160-23, issued by the 2nd Special Court for control with jurisdiction in cases Related to Crimes Associated with Terrorism, Corruption and Organized Crime, under Judge Carlos Enrique Liendo.
