the mining company antapaccay announced the “temporary stoppage” of its operations after the acts of vandalism registered against its camp in Espinar, Cusco.
The company explained that this Friday, after noon, a group of people arrived at its facilities seeking the suspension of its activities, as well as the issuance of a statement requesting the resignation of President Dina Boluarte.

“Next, a group of vandals entered our facilities, looting worker belongings and company assets and burning some areas of the camp,” Antapaccay explained in a statement.
The acts of harassment continued until 4:30 pm, when the protesters left the place, they said.
“Given these unacceptable facts and the risk it implies for our workers, the company announces the temporary stoppage of its operations,” they said.
