Antai sanctions three companies with up to $4,000 for the violation of personal data

A total of 43 complaints for violation of personal data protection have been received by the National Authority for Transparency and Access to Information (Antai), of which three companies reported by citizens who felt that their data had been violated were recently sanctioned.

According to the entity, the fines range between 1,000 and 4,000 Balboas.
According to Antai, one of the people who filed the complaint said that a company made calls to him without having provided his number or personal data and that he had no knowledge of how the agents had obtained it.
In another case, a pH was sanctioned because it was denounced after the security took photographs of a visitor’s ID without their authorization.
Finally, the antai sanctioned a digital communication medium that, according to the complainant, published personal documents on its website and also part of a sentence in which it had been involved.
After these sanctions, Antai said that whoever feels violated or that their personal data has been violated can file a complaint with the entity in person or write to the email [email protected] or through the page cid.antai.gob .pa
