Yesterday, through Ministerial Resolution No. 272-2022/MINSA, Condori Machado appointed Cantorín Camayo as the new coordinator of the National Health Investment Program of the Minsa. For this reason, according to the Political Constitution, the still head of Health must present his resignation to the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, who will have to accept the resignation within three days after the Congress approve the motion of censure.

After the censorship of Condori was approved, the Ombudsman’s Office urged President Castillo to appoint a “suitable person” in the Ministry of Health.

“We sue the President of the Republic appoint in his replacement a suitable person with sufficient experience and solid knowledge to lead the response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the necessary reform of the health system,” said the entity autonomous.

He adds that the new administration in the Minsa must focus on recovering the rate of immunization before COVID-19.
