Aníbal Torres on Minister of Justice: he has no sentence or sanction but we will evaluate complaints

The President of the Council of Ministers, assured that they will investigate the complaints that were filed against the current Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Ángel Yldefonso, for his work as Deputy Attorney General of Áncash.

“The last complaints were not of my knowledge, that I had complaints in the exercise of the attorney general’s office, I do not know them. You have to investigate. I am going to talk to him about what it is, but in any case he does not have any sentence, he does not have any constitutional accusation nor does he have any administrative sanction. He has no criminal, judicial record ”noted the morning of Friday, February 18 before traveling to Chiclayo.

The day before, Thursday, the newspaper El Comercio announced that the now Minister of Justice was administratively denounced for allegedly having committed irregularities and having left the Regional Government of Ancash defenseless when he was attorney for this region between May 12 2017 and June 21, 2018.

According to information obtained in the journalistic report, Yldefonso would not have fulfilled his functions in more than 70 cases that include administrative disputes, actions to fulfill obligations to give sums of money, processes for salary compensation, among others.

“[Se habla de 70 denuncias, ¿no es suficiente para evaluar un cambio?] No. We will evaluate. Complaints can be filed in the exercise of the function. There is no judge who has not complained to government bodies. Another thing is that the government body has sanctioned it. The Minister of Justice does not have that, but I am not saying that he is not going to investigate ”added the prime minister.

Confidence vote

On the other hand, Aníbal Torres described as respectful and frank the conversations held to date with different congressional benches in the round of dialogue that began this week before requesting the vote of confidence that corresponds to the new Cabinet.

“The conversations have been very respectful among all. We have spoken with all frankness, transparency. Some benches are going to give us the vote of confidence, others suddenly not and it is their will. We submit to the decision of Congress”, he concluded.
