The head of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM), Aníbal Torres, began a round of dialogue with members of different parliamentary caucuses with a view to presenting the Government’s General Policy to Congress. Peru Libre was the group with which the talks began between the members of the Executive and the Legislative.
Previously, Torres had referred to the unofficial meeting held by various members of right-wing factions in order to orchestrate the vacancy against the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo. “Peruvians and Peruvians, and also the international community, are aware of this plan that has been exposed”, said the prime minister.
The head of the PCM reported that it would not only be about the meeting in question, but about a series of acts initiated when political groups did not accept the electoral results. “Now they are trying to secretly hatch a plan to generate a coup through presidential vacancy, impeachment or presidential resignation,” he said.
