The prime minister pointed out that the president has never considered closing Parliament and even said that Castillo was willing to be removed from office before making such a decision.

In that sense, the head of the cabinet assured that said measure is not in the plans of Castillo Terrones, despite the fact that they have tried to vacate him up to two times and that Congress and the Prosecutor’s Office are investigating alleged acts of corruption in his environment.
“It is not in the president’s plans, we would have already done it. With so much trouble that has been caused to President Castillo with the vacancy and a constitutional accusation, we would have already done it. We would not have needed more than 15 or 20 days”, he stressed.
Next, Aníbal Torres urged Karelim López to present the evidence of the last statements he gave to the Congressional Oversight Commission and in an interview with El Comercio, where he confirmed that President Pedro Castillo would allegedly be the head of a criminal organization that operated in the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC).
