The President of the Council of Ministers, Hannibal Torresconfirmed that he will appear before the plenary session of Congress on the afternoon of this Thursday, August 18, to explain his statements calling for mobilizations in favor of Pedro Castillo and the Government.
Through an official letter that he sent this Thursday to the president of Congress, Lady Camones (Alliance for Progress), the prime minister confirms his attendance at the plenary session scheduled for 4 pm on the same day.

“I will concur with all the ministers of the Cabinet that I preside over. And in attention to the prerogative in article 129 of the Constitution, the following ministers of State will speak in said session:the document reads.
Torres informs that, together with him, Alejandro Salas, Minister of Labor and Employment Promotion; and Félix Chero, Minister of Justice and Human Rights.
Congress invites Aníbal Torres
The Congress of the Republic summoned the head of the Ministerial Cabinet, Aníbal Torres, this Thursday, August 18 from 4:00 pm, in order to explain his statements in which he encourages social organizations to mobilize towards the city of Lima.
Last Tuesday, with 73 votes in favor, 38 against and zero abstentions, the parliamentarians gave the green light to the request presented by the Avanza País caucus and the date and time of the session was agreed with the same vote.

On August 11, Torres Vásquez encouraged the leaders of various social organizations to mobilize towards the city of Lima to bring the “coup plotters” to their knees and implement a new Political Constitution.
“If each one with that energy that they have, with that capacity that they have, with that will to defend their interests, their children and their children’s children, that they bring 50 people each to Lima. Then they would bring the coup plotters to their knees, they would force us to have a Constitution that benefits all Peruvians and not just a certain class, a sector of economic power,” manifested.
