The President of the Council of Ministers, Aníbal Torres Vásquez, is in Cusco presiding over a meeting with the leaders of the social organizations of farmers, carriers, workers, merchants, workers and university students who abide by a regional strike since dawn.
Torres recognized that the peasant farmer and family farming have been forgotten forever. Given this, he indicated that on Thursday they will arrive the first 200 tons of guano from the island to Cusco to support farmers. “Most of the guano from the island was exported. This government has arranged that 99% has to be for agriculture in Peru”, he maintained.
The 200 tons, he indicated, will be distributed among the peasants. The work has been entrusted to the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation.
