The singer assured that he had found out because some fellow artists had asked him and asserted that neither he nor Andrés Morales (Andy) knew that the event was organized by the ruling party and believed that it was done “through a promoter.”
“Andy and Lucas do not support any dictatorial regime or people who put children in prison and let a people go hungry. We are not going to go. And we are not breaking due to media pressure, as some news say,” says the musician in the video.

The artist, who claims to also speak on behalf of his partner, insists that they are not “going to cover patches.” “We are not in favor of any dictatorship, nor are we in favor of military regimes that have drowned the people,” he says, adding that we must have empathy with the peoples who suffer. “And in this case Cuba is.”
