AN Commission will continue to investigate crimes against migrants

AN Commission will continue to investigate crimes against migrants

This Thursday in an ordinary session, the National Assembly (AN) approved the continuity of the Special Commission to Investigate Crimes against Venezuelan Migrants abroad in order to develop proposals for the benefit of compatriots.

After the extension was unanimously approved by the parliamentarians, the president of the AN, Jorge Rodríguez, specified that the commission must continue to receive and attend to complaints against Venezuelans abroad.

Likewise, the ten proposals left on the table by deputies will be worked on to define and execute each one as a legal instrument of parliament.

In addition, the exact data of the victims such as name, surname, date and place where the crimes were committed regarding the murders of Venezuelans in Colombia must be specified in each report of the commission.

“These data classify criminal cases as true genocides. We cannot let Iván Duque and Julio Borges go with impunity after committing this act, the most criminal of all,” Rodríguez said in an ANTV broadcast.

The deputy to the National Assembly (AN), Julio Chávez, presented this Thursday the report of the Special Commission to investigate crimes against Venezuelan migrants abroad.

During his speech, he stated that most of the crimes that have occurred against Venezuelan migrants have been registered in Colombia, especially in territories controlled by drug traffickers. He specified that there are 615 cases of murders of Venezuelans abroad, 82% of these events have occurred in Colombia.
