The lawyer and representative of the Citizen Alliance for Justice, elucidated this Tuesday in Panama Hoy, the justice situation facing the country, indicating that the Judicial Branch must regulate and take measures that lead to defend and protect the administration of justice.

He affirmed that the well-known Accusatory Penal System (SPA) is also collapsed, since the Judicial Organ does not have the capacity to establish the number of courts necessary so that the terms that were programmed are fulfilled.

“There are many cases that are being procedurally postponed without a procedural understanding or justification. The justification is that there is no court necessary to deal with the volume of cases that are taking place ”, he remarked.

According to the jurist, the political class has not understood that a country needs to have an administration of justice that gives confidence and is agile. “That requires an adequate budget,” he added.

He considered it urgent that the system for appointing the magistrates of the Supreme Court of Justice be changed, in order to ensure that they are independent and do not owe favors to the political class.
