AMP opens call for scholarships to pursue master’s degrees in maritime, logistics and port issues

The Panama Maritime Authority (AMP) announced the call for the China-Panama Maritime Scholarship Program, in which eight people will be selected to pursue master’s degrees in maritime, logistics and port issues, for a period of two years, at the Dalian Maritime University, highlighting that due to the setbacks caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the classes will be held in virtual mode, until further notice.

The master’s degrees offered according to the Memorandum of Understanding on the Implementation of the Maritime Scholarship Program that the AMP has with the Ministry of Transportation of the People’s Republic of China are: Navigation Sciences and Technologies, Maritime Engineering, Maritime Traffic Engineering, Traffic Information and Maritime Control, Maritime Law, Engineering and Environmental Sciences, Information and Communications Engineering, Computer Sciences and Technologies, Logistics Management and Engineering, Software Engineering, and Business Administration.

The requirements for applicants after an interview in Spanish and English are: to be a Panamanian citizen, of legal age and under 35 years of age, have a university degree and official credits in careers related to the areas of study offered, advanced English (must present certification stating the level achieved), a research proposal in English (Research Proposal) of 2,500 words, motivation letter in English, police record translated into English, resume, in Spanish and English, certificate of good physical health and mental (with validity not less of 6 months), two letters of recommendation in English, not having been a scholarship holder of this program, interview in Spanish and English, and send in a single email all the scanned documentation in PDF format indicating your name and master’s degree in the subject.

Those interested, both public officials and the general population, must send all the requirements to the email [email protected] from this Wednesday March 16 to April 6, 2022.

Those who comply with all the required documentation will be contacted with the date of their interview, which will be held online between April 11, 12 and 13, by an external evaluation commission.

The scholarships will be assigned to those who are best evaluated in the review of their resume and product of the interviews. The equal participation of men and women will be sought, seeking to promote and guarantee gender parity and comply with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
