In a solemn ceremony at the Palace of the Revolution, the president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, imposed the “José Martí” national order on President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), highest distinction awarded by that country.
The foregoing, in recognition of the valuable contributions of the President of Mexico in the integration of the region and peace. In addition, for revitalizing the integration of the American and Caribbean states, and his firm defense of just causes, peace and cooperation.
Accompanied by his wife, Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller, a delegation of Mexican officials, President López Obrador thanked “with all his heart” for receiving this distinction from Cuban independence fighter José Martí.
