American Airlines company suspended the operation of flights between Montevideo and Miami, as reported to The Observer from Carrasco International Airport.
The last direct flight service to that US city departed last Saturday at 10:40 p.m.
The airline it had resumed the route on October 30 of last year, with three weekly frequencies in Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft with 234 seats. At that time, the date of suspension of flights had already been brought forward for the month of March.
The cut in services also occurred at this time of year, both in 2022 and 2021. In this way, Uruguay was left without a direct connection with the US.
