Meanwhile, Querétaro bet on the counterattack and in minute 37 Pablo Barrera bothered goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa with a shot that was stopped by the goalkeeper of the Mexican team.

The Eagles were once again the team that had the ball the longest in the second half, however they were only able to score once. In minute 48, the Uruguayan Jonathan Rodríguez, from the left wing, crossed a serve to the area that Henry Martín headed so that emilio lara, throwing himself to the ground, will mark the 0-1. In the final 15 minutes, América ceded control of the match to Querétaro, who came close to equalizing with mid-range shots from Ángel Sepúlveda, in the 74th minute, and Argentine Leonardo Sequeira, in the 82nd minute.

Two hours earlier, the Peruvian Santiago Ormeno scored the goal with which the Chivas from Guadalajara they won by 1-0 to the leader Monterey.

The advanced matches of the sixteenth day will continue this Wednesday with the visit of the Tigres UANL to the Pumas UNAM. This Thursday, Pachuca will host two-time champion Atlas and Tijuana will host Santos Laguna. The Mx League decided that these matches would be played earlier so as not to harm the Mexican team on the FIFA day in September, in which they will face Peru and Colombia.
