Ambassador of the United Kingdom in Chile after the death of Queen Elizabeth II: “I want to thank the Chileans who have contacted us”

The death of Queen Elizabeth II has set the news agenda of the day, shocking both the world and the British themselves, who have begun to pay different types of tribute to the monarch who was at the head of the United Kingdom for 70 years.

In this context, the UK ambassador to Chile, Louise DeSousareferred to the death of the monarch at her 96 years of life and the support she has received from Chileans.

“It is with great sadness that I report the news of the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. A sad moment for the British people and for our team at the embassy,” De Sousa said.

He also highlighted the work that the monarch had in command of the United Kingdom. “The queen dedicated her life to the service of her people and has been a symbol of resilience and stability for all, she has been a source of inspiration for many people around the world. We will remember her with great affection and admiration,” he said.
