Almost 22 thousand Argentines entered Uruguay this weekend

Almost 58,000 people left Uruguay and another more than 49,000 entered the country during this weekend. This was reported by the Ministry of the Interior this Sunday.

According to preliminary data provided by the National Directorate of MigrationBetween October 7 and 8, 57,735 people left Uruguay. The bulk of this number is represented by Uruguayans, with a total of 44,492 people. This figure is followed by 9,633 Argentines, 1,396 Brazilians and 319 Peruvians.

Fray Bentos it was the border point through which most people left the country, with a total of 14,841 people. In second place, by a small difference, was Paysandú, with 14,538. Salto, with 11,804 people; Cologne, with 8,542; the Carrasco International Airport with 3,673 and the port of Montevideo with 2,437 complete the list.

Meanwhile, in terms of people who entered, the total number of visitors was 49,018 people who entered Uruguay in the same period of time. The largest group of visitors came from Argentina, with 21,948 people. Also entered were 20,133 Uruguayans, 3,597 Brazilians and 420 Americans.

“The main entry point is Fray Bentos with 12,369 people, followed by Paysandú with 10,364, Colonia with 9,578, Salto with 6,780, Carrasco International Airport with 4,281 and the port of Montevideo with 2,295 people,” the report concluded.
