He stated that the contribution of the mining sector to the gross domestic product (GDP) ranges between 1.5% and 2%, which represents a significant figure.
He considered that as mining grows, it is necessary to promote the creation and development of spaces for dialogue, as well as the education of citizens in relation to what the importance of mining means, due to the fact that some movements that are developed in some Communities of resistance to mining projects can sometimes delay the start of mining.
He stressed that the government’s commitment is to continue supporting the mining companies established in the country and the investment and exploration of new mineral deposits.
