“Allin Kawsay” program promotes sustainable potato production in Huánuco with Revysol’s innovative technology

The “Allin Kawsay” program is an initiative that seeks to improve the quality of life of farmers in of the Huánuco area, through the transfer of knowledge in good agricultural practices and the incorporation of solutions and technology which allow increasing and improving crop production, while promoting the growth of the national potato market.

This initiative promoted by BASF, a German multinational company with more than 65 years in the Peruvian market, has made it possible to train more than 14,000 farmers in one of the areas cataloged among those with the largest potato production area, with high rates of extreme poverty and where agriculture is the economic livelihood of more than 710,000 families.

“We believe that agriculture is one of the most important activities for the planet, which is why with our “Allin Kawsay” program we seek to professionalize and revalue farmers in the provinces of Pachitea, Ambo, Yarowilca, Huánuco and Chinchao so that they can improve their yields. from their potato crops, which in many cases is their only source of income”comments Jorge Soriano, Country Manager of the Solutions for Agriculture division of BASF Peruana.

Therefore, since 2016, farmers in the area, through the “Allin Kawsay” program, receive knowledge of sustainable agricultural practices, training in occupational safety, application of integrated pest and disease management, increased yield and improved quality. of production. Knowledge is also provided for the conservation of the environment and efforts are added to facilitate commercial access to potato retailers. In addition, BASF disseminates innovative technology for potato cultivation, with a complete portfolio of productive solutions, which includes products with Revysol, BASF’s innovative fungal molecule, the first isopropanol-azole with flexible power – Flexy Power.

These innovative products come to help the farmer to improve the control of diseases that cause great damage to the productivity of the crop and therefore affect its profitability”Soriano assured.
