The provinces of Corrientes, Misiones and Entre Ríos were under a yellow alert due to storms of varying intensity, which may be accompanied by intense gusts and hail fall.while in the south of the country strong winds are expected in Chubut, Santa Cruz and Tierra del Fuego, reported the National Meteorological Service (SMN).

According to the agency’s report, an accumulated precipitation between 20 and 50 millimeters is expected, which can be exceeded in a timely manner in towns in the northeast of Entre Ríos, a large part of Corrientes and the entire province of Misiones.

In the affected areas, storms of varying intensity are expected, some locally strong, which will be accompanied by intense gusts, occasional hailstrong electrical activity and mainly abundant waterfalls in short periods, indicated the SMN.

In these areas, the agency recommended not taking out the garbage, removing objects that prevent water from draining, avoiding outdoor activities, not taking refuge near trees and electricity poles that could fall, and not staying on beaches, rivers, lagoons or pools. to minimize the risk of being struck by lightning.

Besides, be aware of the possible fall of hailget information from the authorities and always have an emergency backpack ready with a flashlight, radio, documents and telephone.

Meanwhile, yellow alerts are in effect for winds from the west sector with speeds between 50 and 70 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 90 kilometers per hour for the south of Chubut, the entire province of Santa Cruz and the east of Tierra del Fuego.

In this sector, The SMN recommended that residents avoid outdoor activities and secure items that can be blown up in such a way as to avoid it.
