Alejandro Salas on the vacancy debate against Pedro Castillo: I think they do not reach the votes

The Minister of Labor and Employment Promotion, ruled on the debate on the vacancy request against the President of the Republic, which will be held next Wednesday, December 7 in the plenary session of Congress.

Salas Zegarra was confident that the Legislative Branch will not reach the 87 votes necessary to achieve the dismissal of the head of state on grounds of permanent moral incapacity, raised by Congressman Edward Málaga (Not Grouped).

(Are they reached the votes?) I think not, due to a matter of respect for governance and the institutionality of the country, for a matter of respect for the fact that in the last five years we have had five presidents of the Republic, three Congresses. Are we thinking about what would happen to society, whether or not there could be a social upheaval in the face of a vacancy? We have to be a little more responsible”, he declared in dialogue with Canal N.

The head of the MTPE also indicated that Castillo Terrones would have no problem going to the Legislative Palace next Wednesday, but clarified that, if he attended, he would expose himself to verbal disrespect by opposition parliamentarians.

I am totally sure that he would have no problem attending. The field here is what the president is exposed to when you have a sector of Congress that the only thing that disrespects him when he approaches (…) What do we want to expose the president to? How much more humiliation do you want?“said Alejandro Salas

From my point of view, from my own personality, I would go for my voice to be louder, even to that wing that is yelling at me, but everyone has their own feeling, their own opinion. I have expressed it like this”, he added.
