President Alberto Fernández will undergo an endoscopy this Saturday after suffering bleeding from erosive gastritis during the G-20 Summit that took place this week in Bali, Indonesia, according to the Presidential Medical Unit.
“The President of the Nation, Doctor D. Alberto Ángel Fernández, will carry out the corresponding endoscopic controls on Saturday, November 19 of this year, after having suffered digestive bleeding due to erosive gastritis. Public opinion will be kept informed of the medical evolution of the President’s health”, says the statement signed by Federico Saavedra, specialist in medical clinic and head of this Presidential Unit.
On Thursday, Fernandez thanked “deeply for the messages of encouragement and concern” as a result of the erosive gastritis picture are signs of bleeding that he presented during the G-20 Summit that took place in Bali, Indonesia.
“I am deeply grateful for the messages of encouragement that they have sent me and the concern for the health episode that I suffered in Bali. I am sincerely moved by them. I am now in full recovery, following the indicated care and controls,” Fernández told through a message posted on his official account on the social network Twitter.
The head of state also thanked “the medical team of the Presidency, as well as those who treated me at the Sanglah Hospital in Bali and all those who accompanied me these days”.
“My gratitude for your presence and your affection,” remarked the head of state on his social networks.
On Thursday, in radio statements from Bali, Fernández assured that he is in “very good” health and said that the picture that was shown to him last Tuesday is a problem that “drags” for several years and that upon his return to the country “more careful” studies will be carried out.
The president acknowledged that He went through “a bad time that passed quickly”but that heor forced to “restrict the agenda” that was planned to meet at this summit.
“It was a bad moment. I had a stomach problem that I had been dragging on for several years but that had never manifested itself with bleeding,” Fernández confided.
The head of state arrived in the country this Friday morning on an Aerolíneas Argentina flight that brought him from Madrid, a stopover on the tour that, in addition to Indonesia, took him to France, where he attended the 5th Paris Forum for Peace.
